Small Hobby Farm in Rural Missouri
I decided with the new year I should get back on track, and up to date on the happenings at e-i-e-i-o acres. Lots has taken place since my last post, lets hope I can do better in 2013.
To begin with we lost our beloved chocolate lab Hershey last summer. She was a very important part of our lives and will be be greatly missed.
About a month after Hershey left us Matt picked out “Pooh” as our next Chocolate Lab. She is adorable and Matt is more than smitten with her. Just a few days after we got her, the guy who we bought her from called to see if we would sell her back to him. Matt was like . . . are you kidding me. He was already attached. She has grown by leaps and bounds. I will be posting pics.
We also lost June the Peacock while she was sitting on her eggs to hatch. Some animal, we are not sure what, must have gotten her. The eggs were left and there was no sign of her. Johnny is very lonely now.
We sold the baby donkey Pez and Little Mary Jane was born in September. She is a cutie. I will be posting pictures.
It was so hot and dry this past year, we are hoping for better growing conditions in 2013 for the animals’ pasture and our garden.
We are expecting our first baby lambs of the year around the 15th of January, I will keep everyone posted.
More news soon, See ya!
